I'm not just plugging this book because I have a couple of shots in it. I've been a fan of M.I.L.K. for a long time as publications like these give a narrative on the world that we so easily overlook. The images are real, emotive, kind and timeless.

We typically fill our lives with two kinds of images. Idyllic beaches and luxury resorts as viewed through the pages of a travel magazine, or the depressing diet of human tragedies that fill the television screen during news bulletins. Escape and voyeurism dominate our media experience.
For me the MILK publications are an antidote to the madness of the world, a momentary pause to reflect on the finer qualities that make us human. Images in the MILK series are fine examples of the photographic art, but the editors demand that they also be evocative. MILK speaks to that little part of the soul that is both terribly neglected yet terribly important.
The name "MILK" stands for Moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship. Milk is good for you.
